RAIN MEDITATION


RAIN is an acronym, as one of my beloved teacher taught me, to be used when life feels hard, challenging, a way to remember how to go back to presence and find some contentment in the midst of difficulty.

RAIN is an easy-to-remember tool for practicing mindfulness and compassion, using the following four steps:


  • Recognize what is happening;

  • Allow the experience to be there, just as it is;

  • Investigate with interest and care;

  • Nurture with self-compassion.


The magic of RAIN relies in the acknowledgement of our capacity to interrupt our patterns of reactivity.
